Economic Update: Weekly Jobless Claims

Initial Claims for Unemployment Insurance for the week ending 7/28 rose by 8K and were reported at 365K.

The reported total was below the consensus estimate for 370K and but above last week’s initially reported total of 353k (which has been revised up to 357k).

Continuing Claims for the week ending 7/21 came in at 3.272M vs. consensus of 3.291M.
