Analyst Catalyst: Meredith Whitney Reduces Estimates on Morgan and Goldman
Meredith Whitney, an influential banking analyst who correctly turned bearish on the banks before the credit crisis began, reduced her estimates for both Morgan Stanley (MS) and Goldman Sachs (GS).
For Goldman, Whitney reduces 2009 EPS to $19.57 from $19.95 (Reuters is $19.12). For 2010: $19.65 from $21.73 (Reuters $18.22).
For Morgan Stanley, Whitney reduces 2010 EPS to $2.60 from $2.63 (Reuters is $3.32). For 2011: $2.75 from $3.28.
