China Economic Update: LEI
The Conference Board’s Leading Economic Index (LEI) for China rose by +0.3% in September. This was below the 1.7% gain seen in the index in August.
Andrew Polk, an economist with the Conference Board, said "The near-term outlook continues to be uncertain," adding, the gauges "very modest pickup in September, due in large part to a heavy drag from real estate, points to an economy that is unlikely to pick up rapidly in the near term."
