Economic Update: Weekly Jobless Claims

Initial Claims for Unemployment Insurance for the week ending 10/6 fell 30,000 and were reported at 339K.

The total was below the consensus estimate for 371K and last week’s initially reported total of 367k (which has been revised up to 369k).

Continuing Claims for the week ending 9/29 came in at 3.272M vs. consensus of 3.283M.
