Economic Update: Weekly Jobless Claims
Initial Claims for Unemployment Insurance for the week ending 8/18 rose by 6K and were reported at 372K.
The reported total was above the consensus estimate for 366K and above last week’s initially reported total of 366k (which has been revised up to 368k).
Continuing Claims for the week ending 8/11 came in at 3.317M vs. consensus of 3.294M.
