ADP Employment Report Surprises To Upside

Economic Update: ADP Employment
ADP reported that the private sector job market expanded once again during the month of June.
The report shows that private sector jobs rose by 176K jobs during the month, which was above the consensus expectations for a gain of 99K.
In addition, May’s job totals were revised up from 133K to 136K.
June’s private sector job growth was the best monthly increase since March.
For comparison purposes:
- May: 136K
- April: 11K
- March: 209K
- February: 230K
- January 2012: +170K
- December: 292K
- November: 206K
- October: 116K
- September: 116K
- August: 89K
- July: 109K
- June: 145K
- May: 38K
As a reminder, the ADP report does not include jobs in the government sector.
Also remember that the all-important Nonfarm Payrolls report is due out Friday morning.
