German IFO Business Sentiment Index Update

Europe Update: German IFO Business Climate Index

The IFO Business Climate Index in Germany for the month of June shows that business sentiment stagnated.

The IFO index was reported at 105.3, which was below the consensus estimate for 105.4 and May’s reading of 106.9.

The Current Conditions Index came in at 113.9, which was above the consensus for 112.0 (May: 113.3)

The expectations component fell to 97.3 vs. consensus for 99.7 (May: 100.9).

The IFO Business Climate Index is based on surveys of 7,000 companies.
