Futures Pointing Lower on Greece Uncertainty

Here’s a brief look at the pre-market action…

  • Once again markets are looking to be "on hold" awaiting any further news out of Greece, as negotiations continue amid internal disagreement within various Greek factions. A massive national strike designed to protest further austerity measures is planned for today.
  • Asian markets were mixed to negative, with China the biggest mover and posting losses over 1.0%. Shanghai shares were lower on a lack of policy easing by the PBOC.
  • Europe is trading lower as we write this, down about -0.6 to -1.0%
  • U.S. futures have weakened over the last hour or so, with the S&P down about 5 points
  • No major economic data today but Bernanke testifying to the Senate budget committee at 10 am eastern
