Economic Update: Challenger Planned Job Cuts
Challenger, Gray and Christmas reports that there were 53,486 planned job cuts announced in January, which was below the level of December: 41,785.
The level of planned layoffs is the highest since September.

Planned job cuts were up 38.9% over the level seen in January of 2011.
