Geithner Not Likely To Stay At Treasury
Bloomberg reports that Treasury Secretary Geithner is not likely to staying on as Treasury Secretary in case of Obama winning a second presidential term. Geithner is the last remaining member of the Obama administration's original economic team.
In an interview on Bloomberg TV Wednesday, Geithner said he was confident President Obama would not ask him to stay on as Treasury Secretary in the event he is elected to a second term.
Recall that last summer Geithner indicated he was interested in leaving the Treasury Department but was ultimately persuaded to stay on through the end of Obama’s first term as President.
In the interview, Geithner said he would "do something else" after he leaves his post at the Treasury Department.
