Jobless Claims Fall 45K to Lowest Level Since April 2008

Economic Update: Weekly Jobless Claims
Initial Claims for Unemployment Insurance for the week ending 1/14 fell by 45,000 to 352K.
The reported total was well below the consensus estimate for 385K and also last week’s revised total of 402k (from 399K).
This was the lowest level of jobless claims since April 19, 2008.
Continuing Claims for the week ending 1/7 came in at 3.432M vs. consensus of 3.600M and last week’s 3.628M.
