Greece Update: Is Germany Backpedaling?
While the consensus is that a fresh new bailout deal for Greece (the country hasn’t met the terms required by the current deal) will be forthcoming, it appears that Germany may be dragging its feet.
According to the wires, a German government spokesman says Chancellor Merkel supports views on involving private creditors in the Greek bailout and adds that it is not certain whether there will be a second bailout for Greece and under what terms.
Note that there will be a joint EU/IMF/ECB report on Greece by mid-week.
